A Life in Focus—On Land and Underwater
My story as a photographer begins long before dive travel and coral reefs.
In the early 2000s, I worked as a staff photographer for The Tennessee Tribune, capturing stories that shaped the heart of my community. I covered everything from cultural events and local heroes to breaking news in and around Nashville. At the same time, I built a portrait business—photographing weddings, high school seniors, and families who trusted me to preserve their most meaningful moments.
Back then, my camera was my passport into people’s lives. It taught me to slow down, observe, and connect with human emotion through stillness. That same instinct follows me today… only now, I often find myself underwater, weightless, chasing moments of awe in the deep blue.
From the Streets to the Sea
Years later, a personal journey led me to the Caribbean—specifically the Cayman Islands—where I lived and dove for six years. What started as curiosity became a calling. I earned my Rescue Diver certification and logged over 300 dives, becoming deeply connected to the ocean, its rhythms, and the communities who live beside it.
It was there, submerged in the silence of the sea, that I rediscovered my voice as a photographer—only now, it spoke not just of faces and street stories, but of rays of light in cenotes, the pulse of marine life, and the quiet transformation people experience when they dive for the first time.
